How Problem Radar works

The world is full of problems worth solving, reported every day and rarely framed so that anyone can act on them. Problem Radar does the finding, at a scale no team could. People decide what is published.

It listens Ainna's Radar

The Radar reads public reporting, continually, for problems worth solving.

When it hears one, it drafts it to a single standard: who lives with it, why now, why it matters and what it would take to make a dent. When the same problem comes up again, the new reports join the entry it already has instead of starting another.

People choose Ainna's innovation team

Nothing the Radar drafts is published on its own.

Ainna's innovation team decides which problems go on the Index. A draft nobody has approved stays out of every list on the site and out of search.

People edit Ainna's innovation team

Every problem is edited before it is published.

The team sharpens the framing, checks it against its sources and approves its editorial grade, which comes with the reasoning behind it.

It shows its sources On every problem

Every problem says where it came from.

A problem drawn from the news links the reporting behind it, so anyone can check the framing against it. A few are framed by the team from conditions most people will recognise; those say so, and they describe the situation without claiming a figure, a date or an event that has no source.

It keeps the record In editions

Problems reach the Index in dated editions, and every edition is archived.

A problem that rotates off the Index stays reachable from the edition that introduced it, and its address never breaks. When a published problem changes (a correction, a narrower scope, a new source), its page says when, and that date is its own, never the date of the reporting behind it.

It stays separate Your own problems

Nothing on the Index comes from what people bring to Ainna.

The problems you work on in Ainna are private to you and are never published.

Solve one

Every problem on the Index is an open invitation. Pick one and Ainna works it through with you, from the framing to the finished documents.
